Some of my favorite ways to relax:
- go for a walk
- do yoga
That last one? It’s like my therapy. It not only helps me relax, but it makes me feel creative, proud, and it just gives me “me time” to think.
Last night was one of those nights where I just. needed. to bake.
So I did … And after, I felt more positive, relaxed, and grateful.

the following is my food journal from Tuesday, August 20th
a bowl of oatmeal (oats, chia seeds, hemp seeds, cinnamon, pure vanilla extract)
topped with a banana, raspberries, and a dollop of sunbutter
broccoli with hummus
an open-faced sandwich (whole-wheat toast, avocado, pesto, and a fried egg)
plus another fried egg* on the side
*literally “farm fresh” – the family I nanny for has 3 chickens in their backyard and therefore get fresh eggs every day. They sent some home with me on Monday. Love that!
on my way to an appointment I decided to pick up an iced tea for me and a coffee for Jesse – I brought it to his work for a little afternoon pick-me-up to cure the 2 o’clock slump :)
a big ole salad!
in the mix:
romaine, zucchini, carrot, grilled corn, pecans, macadamia nuts, grilled chicken, and some greek feta dressing
I did some baking in the evening – a loaf of “Fluffy Flax, Fruit, & Veggie Bread” – because I have a lot of zucchini to use up right now and, really, I just felt like baking (see above ;)
I most certainly had 2 slices immediately after it came out of the oven, topped with coconut oil!
What are you favorite ways to relax?
Are you a person that needs a little quiet/”me time” every day?
