Where did the weekend go?!

Good morning everyone…We’re back to Monday again! (<—exclamation point shows that I’m really trying hard to be positive about this)

a few things to catch up on…

1.  Jesse and I went to the movie “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close” on Friday night (*book review).  I thought the movie was really good!  I’d probably rate it a 6 or 7 out of 10, and the main actor was fantastic.

2.  On Saturday I made Homemade Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups using Chef Katelyn’s recipe as a basis.  They were really easy to make and I was happy with how they turned out…I personally thought they were even better than Reese’s ;)

3.  I’ve ‘been on’ Pinterest for maybe a year now? but never found it as addicting as everyone claimed it to be…until now.  I don’t know why but since this past week I can’t stop clicking over to it!  I love finding fitness inspiration and wedding planning ideas, recipes and cute baby faces…for example, I’m in love with this pin:

4.  On Friday I also made a batch of Mama’s Peas Soft-Baked Oatmeal Raisin Cookies—this isn’t surprising, but this is a fantastic recipe and I definitely recommend it…p.s. I was responsible for bringing dessert to dinner at a friend’s (hence all the baking…it’s not all just for Jesse and I, though there are plenty of leftovers here somehow…)

5.  Articles of possible interest:

6.  I’m thankful February is right around the corner…January is by far my least favorite month.  It seems to just drag on and on every year, the weather is nasty, buuuuut now I’m done complaining.  Hopefully this whole moving to California idea can actually play out! :)

7.  We’re currently trying to finalize the plans for our wedding reception dessert…choosing a few cake designs that we love is surprisingly hard to do.  We’re most likely going to just do a simple 2-tier cake for our display cake….two of the designs I like:

8.  From yesterday’s sermon, 3 quotes from our pastor that really stuck out to me:

  • “We’re not called to judge the root, we’re called to look at the fruit.”
  • “Whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light.”
  • “If your faith has not changed you, it has not saved you.”

9.  And just because it’s cute… (I told you I was addicted!)
