Sunday is my shopping day, so I went at 6:30 am! Best decision ever, I had the store to myself. Although my husband and I had to go later to pick something up for a party we were attending and it was a madhouse.

I believe that the store was quiet at 6:30 – that’s early! I love when the stores are quiet though, it makes shopping so much more enjoyable!

I love getting my hair cut — getting pampered at the salon is always super relaxing :) And while I didn’t watch the game myself, my dad had it on so I caught most of it in the background when I was over there for dinner last night.

Happy Monday!

The salon I go to does a short head massage before the shampoo/condition part…it’s always so relaxing I could easily fall asleep!

5 Holly @ EatGreatBEGreat February 3, 2014 at 7:39 am

Getting my haircut is definitely so relaxing; in fact, I think I’m due for a cut soon! Justin is into the Superbowl, so I did watch the game with him, but I did browse on my computer here and there.

And yes, I’d love to hear how your gluten free journey is going so far!

Great! I think I’ll do a post about it in a couple of weeks – just so that I’ve been on it for over a month before really sharing my thoughts…have you ever eaten gluten-free?

7 Holly @ EatGreatBEGreat February 3, 2014 at 3:00 pm

I do eat gluten free a lot more these days, but I’ve never been on a strictly gluten free diet. It’s something I’ve always been interested in trying because sometimes I wonder if I have a gluten intolerance. On days where I give in and enjoy pasta or bread, I find that my stomach blows up and is uncomfortable. It really makes me wonder!

Interesting! For starters, it’s fantastic that you pay attention to how your body reacts – many people don’t consider correlations like that…I’m surprised as how not-hard it’s been actually, and I really do feel good not eating it! But I’ll talk more about that in a blog post :)

9 Marcia February 3, 2014 at 9:30 am

Yes your haircuts should certainly be relaxing, thats when you know you trust your hairstylist, when you can sit in the chair and relax being she has control. So glad you were able to meet up with Melinda and the brothers in law this weekend being you didn’t make it last week. Enjoy your week.

10 Danica February 3, 2014 at 1:38 pm

Me too :) We’ll have to make our way to Owatonna one of these weekends to see you guys, too! It’d be fun to get together for dinner or something.

11 Kelsey @ Ramblings of Change February 3, 2014 at 9:35 am

I love haircuts! I’m getting one on my birthday in a little less than 2 weeks & I’m pretty excited! I was at work during the Super Bowl, but even if I had been home, I don’t think we would have watched it! Maybe for the halftime show, though!

The halftime show is all I ever watch the Superbowl for…and this year I only tuned it for that part :)

13 Katie @ running4cupcakes February 3, 2014 at 10:45 am

Love the post-haircut pic!! And those brownies have me craving chocolate big time!!

I watched the Super Bowl but it was so boring and I was so exhausted that I left my friend’s house at the end of the 3rd quarter and went to bed before the game was over. Not sorry about it!

I don’t blame you one bit. I didn’t watch it, but my husband said it was boring…and so did everyone else on Twitter…I don’t think you missed anything worthwhile! Sleep was the better choice :)

Thank you! :)
I think I’ll do an update on the gluten-free eating in a couple of weeks then, just so that I give it well over a month’s shot before saying how it makes me feel. I appreciate your feedback!

21 Caitlin February 3, 2014 at 12:25 pm

Definitely relaxing! I can’t wait for mine on Saturday! You look gorgeous :) I think the halftime show was the only part of last night that we missed haha. We decided it would be wise to leave the party we were at then and drive home to finish the game there, which it was :P i’m not normally a halftime show fan, but I heard we missed a good one, so I’m kind of bummed we missed it

Thanks :)
And that’s definitely understandable – not just because the game was less than exciting (so I heard anyway) but because it was probably a lot safer to drive then instead of after the game was over!

23 Jen@PregnantDiabetic February 3, 2014 at 4:12 pm

Cute haircut! No superbowl or halftime show for that matter, watching for me. It’s not my thing!

25 Courtney @ Don't Blink. Just Run. February 3, 2014 at 4:19 pm

Your hair looks cute! My hair cuts always stress me out. The good thing is that it’s gotten easier because a girl that was in my wife’s brother’s class in high school did my hair once and did it perfectly, so I didn’t go to anyone else but her. She recently switched salons (moving even closer to me!) so I followed her there! LOL

27 Sarah @ Sarah Sincerely February 3, 2014 at 4:53 pm

I am absolutely loving your hair! Short hair definitely suits you well.

I went to the grocery store after church on Sunday. As we walked in, I was dreading it, knowing we’d probably encounter lots of Super Bowl Party prep-ers. Thankfully, we must have been there a little earlier than they decided to hit the stores!

Thanks, Sarah!

I aim to go grocery shopping either in the morning or in the middle of the week – it’s so much more enjoyable when the stores are quiet!

29 Heidi @ Idlehide February 3, 2014 at 5:58 pm

Looks like a fun weekend:) I went to a superbowl party, but I just hung out with the girls and talked. We sort of saw it as a celebration that football is over for the year haha! The half time show was really good this year!

Cute hair! I made a grocery trip Saturday morning & thought the same thing. I didn’t watch the Super Bowl and have no regrets, haha.

33 Emilie February 3, 2014 at 7:24 pm

Haircuts always start out as relaxing but then halfway through I panic when it doesn’t look the way I want it to. By the time it’s done I’m fine but the halfway point is dreadful, ha! I like the curls – it’s always fun to have someone else blow your hair out after a cut! I would love to hear more about how gluten-free is going for you. Those brownies look so good! I have a lot of stomach issues and I always wonder if it would improve if I went gluten-free, but I’m already allergic to soy, lactose intolerant and meat-free so cutting another item out of my diet isn’t ideal…and I love bread :)

I can understand why gluten would be a(nother) daunting thing to add. I don’t really eat dairy, and choosing to eliminate gluten made me nervous. Cooking/eating at home is no big thing to me – I’m actually really liking it – but eating out is a totally different story. It’s a little less enjoyable when I’m nervous about what limited options I’ll have :/

35 Melissa @ Freeing Imperfections February 3, 2014 at 8:56 pm

Your hair is so cute! I would absolutely love to hear more about GF eating. I’m trying to get on the bandwagon myself but it’s been really frustrating lately…

And I didn’t even watch a minute of the game at all. Can’t say I missed it ;)

36 Danica February 3, 2014 at 9:12 pm

I definitely think I’ll post about it then – I’ve heard interest from several people now. Can I ask why you’re frustrated about it? Maybe it’s something I could address in my post?

37 Melissa @ Freeing Imperfections February 6, 2014 at 7:04 pm

I think a big part of it is just the fact that most the meals I make include gluten already. I’m not used to GF cooking or baking so it makes me feel like “oh, right. I can’t make that recipe either…” When I find totally new recipes, GF eating is fine. It’s jsut my old favorites that are hard to go without unless I modify them to be GF.

I love love love your hair curled like that, looks super cute!

I love going to get my hair cut, mainly because my stylist is awesome and it’s like a “girl time” when I get to go. Sit there with coffee and chatting with her, nice way to relax!

Thanks, girl! I don’t curl my own hair often so it’s fun to request that from the salon since she always does my hair after my cut for me – she curls it in no time and makes it look better than I ever get it to :)
