pics of the day: 12.30.12

Hope you had a wonderful Sunday!

Here are a few pictures from mine…

my favorite kind of morning: while the husband sleeps in and the house is quiet, I curl up on the couch with a book or my Bible with a mug of hot lemon water

Sunday morning reading

it was the worst run I’ve had in a long time (dragging the whole time, felt ready to quit at about 0.3 miles) but I pushed through and finished the 7 miles I set out to….that just means that one really great run is in my near future, right?

7-mile Run

this song came on at about mile 6 though and that helped me push through–love it.

snacked on this microwave “english muffin” in the afternoon

my brother sent this to me for Christmas and it came this weekend!  I’m looking forward to learning a few things.

It Starts With Food book

wore my new necklace (Christmas gift from my godson :)
it says “Godmother” and “Proverbs 22:6″
I love it.

you know you live in Minnesota when you get excited about how crazy warm it got today…a whopping 29 degrees.
don’t worry, it’s supposed to be back down to 5 (as the high) tomorrow.

I watched the Vikings game with the husband today…

…and by “watched” I mean I sat on the couch near him reading blogs and laughing at how excited he got about the game ;)

this is the action shot of when they won — he literally did a double-legged jump kick, when they scored the field goal at the very end to win it, cheerleader style (uber manly).

we packed up the Christmas tree and decorations :(
it was a free night that we had time to do it, but it was so sad to pack away the season–it went by so quickly and I loved having our tree set up

homemade apple crisp (used my Grandma’s recipe of’s the best!)

That book looks really interesting! It is cold her too… but I think that Chicago is a tad warmer than MN. I am already excited for summer to be back!

I’ve been hearing so many great reviews on that book. I’m sure you’ll LOVE it!!

A really rough run definitely means you have a great one in your future, don’t worry! And the right song definitely helps push me to get a workout done too.

We’re going to have to take down our Christmas stuff this week. I am not looking forward to it :(.

I’m excited to hear what you think about “It Starts With Food”! I have read a lot on their Whole9/whole30 website and really like what they have to say. It’s funny that we both had an “english muffin” for breakfast yesterday…great minds think alike. Happy New Year’s Eve!
