my go-to recipes!

by Danica on October 7, 2013

Have I ever mentioned that I love cookbooks?

If you know how much I love food and to cook/bake, then you’re not surprised, I’m sure.

There’s just something about flipping through the pages filled with wholesome ingredients and mouth-watering pictures that makes me want to run to the kitchen, throw on my apron, and create something!

Cookbooks inspire me.

And though it will never be as good as a real book, I get a lot of healthy cooking inspiration online, too – from blogs, health websites, and online magazine sites.

I have a recipes Pinterest board that’s overflowing with recipes I want to try, and I also have a saved file on my computer filled with bookmarked recipes that are tried-and-true favorites.

There are a lot of great recipes out there on the web, but listed below are a few of the ones I keep going back to – we love them!

So here they are!  A few of my favorite go-to (online) recipes that make a frequent appearance in our kitchen…

Breakfast:

Lunch/Dinner:

Breads:

Dessert:

I’d highly encourage you to try one out this week!

Where do you find inspiration for cooking/baking in your kitchen?

What meals do you/your family have on repeat?

I love looking through cookbooks or cooking magazines too! There are so many recipes and so little time. I’ve been wanting to try those tortillas from Lean Green Bean too.

The tortillas are so easy to make (and they taste really good!) – I actually don’t ever buy tortillas anymore because these are so easy to make, not to mention cheap :)

I always forget about my cookbooks – I need to use them more. I think I have too many recipes saved – I want to make them all but there’s a lot I never get around to. I should make it a goal to make at least 1 thing new each week. We have fAnnetastic Anne’s enchiladas on our weekly rotation. Super good and easy and great for leftovers.

I’ll have to check out that enchilada recipe – we love Mexican food at our house :)

And I’m actually considering making that a goal for 2013 – make 1 new recipe each week…it sounds fun AND intimidating :)

These look so, SO good. You definitely share the same tastes as me! I’ve been wanting to try those oatmeal cookie pancakes since they came up on my Pinterest a long time ago! UGH. I die at the pictures.

These all sound delicious, especially the tuna avocado salad! Tuna is my go- to lunch. We love turkey burito’s and guacamole at our house. So easy and tasty.

Oh goodness, there’s just too much good food out there, and only so much room in my stomach. Seriously. I have a really bad habit of collecting recipes and never actually making them, but I think a lot of that comes down to the fact that I just get overwhelmed with all the good ones out there and don’t even know where to start. Those double chocolate brownies are calling my name, though…

Those brownies are so so good – I only use about 1/2 or 3/4 of the sugar the recipe calls for, and I also undercook them a tiny bit :)

I think a lot of my inspiration comes from reading blogs! I have a few cookbooks I’m in love with, but since I already read my blogs, it’s multi-tasking. Matt and I also like to throw meals together of different types of foods we like. I like creativity! Our repeat meals would have to be our “homemade” spaghetti, crockpot meals (we have about 4 we rotate), sweet potatoes as a side for a lot of things, Betty Crocker’s parmesan orzo with meatballs (adapted to our likings!), and homemade pizza!

You should try the recipe I shared above sometime! It’s really, really good.
and a side note: I usually only put about half the sugar the recipe calls for, and it’s still plenty sweet :)
