Our Elf for Health Challenge for Wednesday this week is to “pack a healthy snack.”
I’ve said many times before that I’m definitely a “snacker” and eat every 3-4.5 hours (or I really turn into a crab. whoops.)
In honor of the challenge tomorrow, I thought I’d share a few of my absolute favorite healthy snacks.
- an apple with nuts or some nut butter
- veggies with hummus (carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, and/or celery are my favorites)
- any fruit (apple, banana, orange, grapes {frozen grapes are awesome too}, berries if they’re in season, kiwi, etc.)
- applesauce with PB2 and cinnamon (if you haven’t tried this yet, do. asap.)
- low-sugar cereal or homemade granola with almond milk
- greek yogurt (So Delicious vanilla coconut milk is my favorite) topped with cinnamon and fresh fruit (pom. seeds, berries, etc.)
- celery with peanut butter (or hummus)
- snack bars occasionally…my favorites are Larabars, KIND bars, and PureBars (the ingredients are good!)
- almonds, cashews, or walnuts with raisins or another dried fruit (*no sugar added) –aka homemade trail mix
- a hard-boiled egg and a slice of 100% whole-wheat bread
- air-popped popcorn! (YUM.) I also really love Angie’s popcorn.
- edamame with sea salt
- whole-grain pita chips with hummus
- (organic) blue-corn tortilla chips with fresh salsa and black beans
- a smoothie (my favorite green smoothie)

My favorite snacks are:
1. Smoothies, of course
2. Apples & Peanut Butter
3. Yogurt frozen in the freezer mixed with Grapes & cereal or peanut butter
4. Microwaveable pumpkin Cookie
5. Eggs
and the list can go on forever!! =)
I know what you mean…I thought I’d just post about a few snack ideas but before I knew it I’d made a huge list! haha
Love the snacks! Especially the boom chick a pop! I am glad you are enjoying it!
I like apples with pb, luna bars, hummus with egg or veggies, kind bars, and chobani for snacks! So many snacks, those are just to name a few!

Great ideas! Lately I’m on a popcorn kick too. My go-to snack lately is a mini popcorn bag and an orange. Other kicks I’ve gone on in the past couple of months-an apple and a string cheese, hummus and pita chips and Chobani!
hummus and pita chips…I never get sick of that combination! I only buy pita chips once in a while though because it’s so easy for me to just mindlessly each SO many of them at once :)
I need to eat every 3-4 hours too! Some of my favorite snacks are Greek yogurt and a sliced apple with cinnamon.
love adding cinnamon to fruit (but I add it to pretty much anything haha)…especially to a sliced pear. yum!
