Larabar ALT Bars Review & Giveaway! {CLOSED}

by Danica on June 4, 2013

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:
I believe Healthy Snacking is an important component of a Healthy Diet.

I believe in eating wholesome, real foods, and I also try to avoid processed foods.

Sometimes, however, I’m on-the-go and don’t have the means to carry around a typical snack.  In those times, I’ll snack on a bar that has good ingredients.

In case you’re unfamiliar with Larabar snack bars, they’re bars that are made from whole, real ingredients – nothing that you can’t pronounce or possibly even find in your own kitchen.  ALL Larabars are non-GMO  They’re my first choice when choosing a snack bar.

Recently, Larabar released their new (vegan) protein bars called ALT bars.

I received one of each of the four bars to sample and share my thoughts on them with all of you.

Larabar ALT bars

Each ALT bar contains 10 grams of protein, non-GMO ingredients, and is gluten-free, dairy-free, kosher, and vegan.  They really fit the bill for nearly everyone.

I honestly thought they all tasted great, and my favorite was the Cinnamon Apple Crisp bar.

larabar ALT bar

I’ve tried protein bars in the past that tasted so chalky but these are nothing like that.

To be honest about one more thing, however, I do think that the original Larabar snack bars would be my top pick over the ALT bars, because while the ingredients are still pretty good, I think the original bar ingredients are even better.

But like I said, in one of those on-the-go situations, these are a great choice for a protein bar!

Larabar ALT bars

Larabar has graciously offered to give one of my readers the same 4-bar sample pack!

To enter the giveaway*, all you have to do is comment on this post and tell me which bar you’d be most excited to try or tell me about your favorite on-the-go snack.

The giveaway will be open until Friday, June 7th at 7a.m. (central time), and I’ll announce the randomly chosen winner later that morning!

this giveaway is now closed.

*giveaway for U.S. residents only

Good luck!  :)
