Friday Favorites 3.7.14

Happy Friday!!

a few of my recent favorites…

  • You Are Not Diminished by Others’ Successes (by Annette)
  • The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon  <–are you watching this?!  I’ve watched them all via Hulu – love it, and I’ve never really paid much attention to The Tonight Show before.
  • Wow do I need this reminder.  That whole ‘wishing for Summer’ one?  I find myself focusing on that every day right now, and I need to remember to stop wishing time away.

Tell me 3 things you’re doing this weekend.

  1. Love the quote about not waiting for things. I am so guilty of doing that and you look back at the past few years and realize just how fast time goes. It’s kinda scary! I am taking life day by day and wanting it to go by SO slow with Tate. It’s amazing at how fast 6 weeks went by:(

Also love the verse. My favourite verses seem to all be in Philippians, I could read that book over and over again.

This weekend is supposed to be warmish (in the +’s ) so I’m hoping for the fam to get out for a Spring walk:) I think a games night is in the works too. Have a great weekend, Danica!

    • I’m terrified about how fast time will go with our (someday) babies! I suppose what’s so important though is that you’re CHERISHING those moments! <3
I hope you had a great weekend, Heidi!

  2. 1. Installing invisible fence (well I’m watching the hubby and dad do it :) )for our new addition

    2. Attending a Friday night dinner with small group from church

    3. Registering for baby stuff!

LOVE the verse at the end – it may set the tone for my day and weekend!

    • That sounds like such a great weekend!! Registering for baby stuff? That must’ve been a blast – is it all feeling more and more real?! :)

  3. I’ve used honey on my face before and it works great!

This weekend Justin and I will be enjoying the nice weather and going for a walk, I’m baking a carrot cake and we’re celebrating my dad’s birthday on Sunday.

  4. Some good stuff to check out!

I’ll be running a St. Pat’s race tomorrow, but other than that, I’ll be prepping for the week ahead and trying to get some organizing done around the house.

    Have a great weekend!

  5. Thank you for sharing my post! I hope that you have a great weekend!

    • You’re welcome!
And we did get out for a walk today – it was so nice to get some fresh air, even if it was mostly puddle jumping! :)

  6. And now I am super glad that I have a health/unhealthy ;) obsession with sweet potatoes!

  7. I am totally with you on needing to enjoy where I am/where life is more than wishing things away. Life is too short and precious to do anything less, even when it’s colder/snowier than we would like. Thank you for this reminder, hun! Three things for the weekend: my first 5K tomorrow, pizza night with Joe’s brother and his girlfriend on Saturday, and long run Sunday. Lots of running this weekend :D

driving 20 hours to Arizona.. playing some softball!! whooo and hopefully getting some Vitamin D!!!! (: I love you and miss you!
Your one and only sister (:

  9. yay for friday :) I’ve heard a TON of good things about raw honey! Hope it works for you as a face wash!

I’m going bridesmaid shopping for my cousins wedding, then I’m going to a wedding reception for friends who got married in jamaica and I’m relaxing!! Hopefully the relaxing will happen on sunday along with maybe some cleaning.

  10. Great quote about not wishing things away, very appropriate for this freakishly long winter we’re having! This weekend I am:
    1. seeing George Strait and Vince Gill in concert!!
    2. recovering today with coffee and blogging
3.trying your interval workout (although now looking at the speeds, it may kill me!) ;)

  11. I love the quotes (and everything else in this post, apparently, because I now have three new windows open!).
It took me a long time to recognize when I’m wishing my life away. Age helps, I’m sure, but I’ve been better about that lately.
We emailed about this a long time ago… but we are going to start our search for a church family tomorrow morning ~ attending worship at a local church. We need to find a church that is accepting and open. We’ll see!
Also! You got me thinking during the new year about budgeting. I bought the Dave Ramsey book and we are in month 2 of our budgeting and this month we start our debt snowball. After bringing it up at Christmas/New Years while we were in MI (after I read your post) I found out that there were members of my family who had heard of him and had nothing but good things to say. We are IN to this hook-line-and-sinker! Hope it is going well for you! recently posted…Dara’s Strength Workouts ROCK! (so does my kid)My Profile

    • Stephanie,
1 – I love that you’re working on your debt snowball! That’s where we’re at, too. We aren’t following Dave Ramsey’s whole plan to an exact T, but mostly – slowly but surely we’re paying off debt! It’s such a great feeling, isn’t it?!
2 – How did the start of your ‘church hunt’ go today?
