Friday Favorites 12.13.13

Happy Friday!!

things I’m loving this week…

  • this bread.  torn up and thrown into a bowl, topped with sliced banana, almond milk, and a large spoonful of peanut butter.  do it.
  • our Christmas tree.  I just can’t help but smile when I look at it all lit up each evening!

  • these 3 videos from Upworthiest:

a glimpse at how the media treated women this year is a look at way too many cringe-worth moments

5 minutes of what the media actually does to women

I bet these people never expected to be models, but the results are so gorgeous

  • this dinner I made last night:

I can’t wait to share the recipe with you next week!

  • the show Parenthood – I just finished season 1 and I’m completely in love with it.
  • last night’s sunset:

December sunset - beautiful

  • this post by Andrea Beaman:  What?!  I can’t believe YOU are sick!
  • my Bible study small group (yes, I’ve said this in the past, but I really mean it) – we had our Christmas party on Wednesday night and it just reminded me of how grateful I am for all they teach me and for the friendships I’m making through it.

Do you watch Parenthood?  {no spoilers!}

If you work in the health field, do you get confronted with that idea that you’re some sort of superhuman and should never get sick or deal with health issues since you know a lot about health?

And because it’s Friday, what are your weekend plans?!

  1. Happy Friday!!! I have NO plans this weekend…so excited about that! We’re supposed to get snow and ice pretty much all weekend, so we’ll be staying in the house, keeping warm and enjoying our beautiful tree. Speak of trees…yours looks so pretty!

Oh, and can’t wait for the recipe! It looks delicious!

  2. I am loving Parenthood! I just started watching this season, and I know I need to start from the beginning.

We have the same Christmas tree skirt — Target :)?

    • You definitely should start from the beginning! I, on the other hand, completely avoid the station/show website and any/all commercials for it on tv – I’m scared to get any spoilers! :)

And yep! tree skirt from Target last year!

  3. I’m in love with our Christmas tree right now too! This weekend will be pretty busy for me. I graduate tomorrow (yay!) and then celebrate Christmas with one side of my grandparents Sunday. Tis the Season!

  6. I love our Christmas tree too! I also love having Luke try to find ornaments on the tree. . . he loves finding the bear, moose and horse the most!

  7. CUTE Christmas tree – love it!

Parenthood is probably my top favorite show! We watch it on Netflix though, so we’re always a season behind.

  9. We love Parenthood. It’s the one show a week that both my husband and I make sure we are home to watch.

We are going to try and take our 2-year-old son to see Santa – hopefully he won’t be too scared!
