We had such a great weekend over here – I hope you all did too!
It was honestly just one of the most fun weekends we’ve had in a while. It reminded me that no matter what I’m struggling with right now, my little family is what’s most important to me, and I just feel so blessed and grateful!
Enough of being a cheeseball though…
a photo dump from the weekend for your viewing pleasure:
One year ago, we froze the top tier of our wedding cake, and this weekend we let it thaw, cut into it, and tasted it! We didn’t expect it to be even close to edible, but actually, it tasted really good!
Zida wanted a slice too :)
My second attempt at homemade oatmeal molasses bread still didn’t rise…it still tastes great (just very dense), but I want so badly to get it right! I immediately called my grandmother to see if she could help me solve the problem, and she did! When I try it next I think I’ll have it figured out! Then I can finally share the recipe with you :)
new haircut – shorter and lighter for summer
Did you know that Friday was National Donut Day?
I’m not a huge fan of donuts to be honest – I really only like homemade (baked) ones.
But on Saturday morning, Jesse and I spotted these at the Farmer’s Market and decided to pick them up. One was vanilla and one was apple. They were pretty good!
other farmer’s market purchases: rhubarb and tomatoes
anniversary celebration date night!
*when we get all dressed up to go out for a fun date night, but we can’t get a full picture of us because the only other one around is our dog…cue the awkward selfie ;)
a little froyo happened
*yes, there’s actually some frozen yogurt under those toppings
HIIT run to kick off my Sunday
a trip to Whole Foods made me happy :)
we stopped at Barnes & Noble, and these are the two books I left with…I’m not going through a little crisis about what I want to do with my life or anything ;) haha
has anyone read either of these? what’d you think of them?
and this was actually taken this morning…a great verse to remind me that beauty comes from within…
Favorite froyo topping?
What book are you reading right now?
Those of you that are married – did you save the top tier of your wedding cake? If so, was it still good a year later?
